Privacy Policy

CloudEx Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") operates the "Image Resizer Pro" app (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Our Core Principle

Image Resizer Pro is an app that changes the size, file size, and format of many photos at once and can add date stamps and watermarks to all of them. Resizing, file-size reduction, format conversion, rotating and flipping, drawing date stamps and watermarks, and tidying up EXIF (photo information) all happen entirely on your device: none of this processing is done on a server, and your photos are never uploaded to us. Specifically, the app does not send any of the following to us or to any other server:

  • The photos and images you select, the images the app creates, or their contents
  • The EXIF information in your photos (such as the date taken, camera details, and where the photo was taken)
  • The text and logo images you use for watermarks, or the text you add to date stamps
  • Your processing history (such as the names, file sizes, and dimensions of the original photos and the resulting images)

Image Resizer Pro passes your images outside the app only when you ask it to: when you share an image or open it in another app. Separately, if Android backup is turned on, Android may back up the app's settings to your own Google account (see Section 3.2).

2. How Your Images Are Handled

Image Resizer Pro opens only the images you give it: photos you select in the system photo picker, images you select in the system file picker, the images in a folder you select in the system folder picker (if the folder has subfolders, the app asks you whether to include them), and images you send to the app from another app with “Share”. It does not ask for “Photos and videos” access or “All files access”, and does not look through your photos on its own. For items you select in the file picker or folder picker, the app keeps the read permission that Android grants, so that it can find the original photo again from your processing history (for example, to move it to the trash later). The app keeps read permission only.

Results are always saved as new files in Pictures/Image Resizer Pro in your device's shared storage (you can change the folder name in the settings), where your gallery and other apps that you allow to access your photos can also see them. The app never overwrites the original photo; if a file with the same name already exists, it adds a number and saves a separate file. The app deletes an original photo only when you choose “Move the originals to the trash” on the results screen and approve it on Android's confirmation screen (Android 11 and later). Even then the original is not permanently deleted: it is moved to Android's trash, from which it can be restored, for example from your gallery, for a period of time (usually about 30 days).

You choose which EXIF (photo information) to keep in the resulting images: “Keep everything”, “Remove location only”, or “Remove all”. The default is “Remove location only”, which removes where the photo was taken (GPS) and keeps the date taken and the camera details. While “Keep the date taken” is on (the default), the date taken is kept even with “Remove all”, and if the original photo has no EXIF date, the app writes the date taken that it finds in the file name or in the gallery's records. EXIF is read and written entirely on your device, and its contents are never sent to us.

Date stamps and watermarks (Premium features) are also drawn onto your images on your device. A logo image for a watermark is the image you select in the photo picker, copied into the app's private storage. When you choose a different logo, the app deletes old copies that are no longer used by the current settings or by any saved preset.

While it works, the app keeps temporary files in its private cache: the image being written, one at a time, and a list of references to the photos you selected. Other apps cannot access this cache, and it is not included in backups. Each image being written is deleted as soon as that image is done, and any left behind because the app stopped part-way are deleted the next time the app starts. The list of references is deleted when you close the screen where you select photos and choose settings (if the app stops before you close it, the list is deleted the next time you select photos, once it is more than 2 days old).

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information Collected Automatically

  • Anonymous crash reports: Via Firebase Crashlytics. When the app crashes, we collect the stack trace, device model, OS version, and app version. This does not include personally identifiable information or the contents of your images.
  • App usage statistics: Via Google Analytics for Firebase. We collect anonymous app usage events (such as the app being opened for the first time) together with device information and the device's advertising ID (AAID). We use this data to understand aggregate app usage and to measure the effectiveness of our own advertising campaigns (counting app installs that resulted from an ad). It is never used to display ads in the app.
  • Purchase / license information: We use purchase tokens issued by Google Play to verify your one-time Premium purchase. We never receive any payment information such as credit card numbers.
  • List of our other apps: When our other apps are introduced or listed, the app downloads the current list and its images from our server. The request contains only what every web request contains, such as your IP address. To decide which apps to show, the app checks on your device which of our apps are already installed, which region your device is set to (from the SIM, the mobile network, and the language settings), and whether your device always plays the camera shutter sound; this information is not sent anywhere. When you choose an app from the list, its Google Play page opens, and information showing that it was opened from this app's list (such as this app's package name) is passed to Google Play.
  • Emails you send us: If you use “Contact us” or send feedback from “Rate this app”, your email app opens with the app version, Android version, and device model filled in (and, for feedback, your star ratings and what you wrote). Nothing is sent unless you send the email yourself. We then receive your email address and what you wrote.

3.2 Information Stored on Your Device

  • Images you create: The images the app creates are saved in the folder described in Section 2. They stay on your device until you delete them, even if you uninstall the app. Other apps you use, such as a cloud backup or sync app for your photos, may copy them according to your own settings.
  • Processing history: For each time you save, the app records the names, file sizes, and dimensions of the original photos and the resulting images, references to the images (not copies of them), and the settings used. It keeps the 40 most recent, and you can erase it at any time with “Clear history” on the app's “History” tab (the images themselves are not deleted).
  • Watermark logos: Copies of the logo images you use for watermarks (see Section 2).
  • App settings: The processing settings you last used (size, file size, format, EXIF handling, file naming, and the date stamp and watermark settings, including the watermark text and the text before the date), the presets you saved under a name, the name of the save folder, the theme, whether Premium has been purchased, and records of whether the first-run tour, the notification permission question, and the rating request have been done.
  • Android backup: If backup is turned on in your device settings, Android may include the app settings (the processing settings, presets, save folder name, theme, and purchase status) in the backup it stores in your own Google account, and may copy them to a new device when you transfer your data. The processing history, the watermark logos, and the records of whether the first-run tour and the like have been done are excluded. We have no access to these backups.

Everything in the app's own storage (history, logos, and settings) is erased when you uninstall the app or clear the app's data.

3.3 Information We Explicitly Do Not Collect

  • Your photos and images, or their contents (the app only processes the ones you choose, on your device)
  • Where your photos were taken, when they were taken, or the camera details stored in their EXIF
  • Your watermark text or logos, or the text you add to date stamps
  • A history of the websites you visit or the contents of your communications
  • Your device's location, such as GPS coordinates
  • Phone number, contacts, calendar, microphone, or camera

3.4 Permissions the App Requests and Their Purposes

Image Resizer Pro requests only a few OS permissions and uses them only for the stated purposes:

  • Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, Android 13+) — Used only to let you know that a batch has finished if you left the app while it was running. If you do not allow notifications, processing still works.
  • Storage (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) — Requested only on Android 9 and earlier, where it is needed to save the resulting images to the Pictures folder. On Android 10 and later, the app does not ask for storage permission.
  • Internet (INTERNET) — Used only to show this privacy policy, to fetch the list of our other apps, and to send the anonymous diagnostic data described above. Your photos and images are never sent.
  • Permissions added by Google libraries — The Google Play Billing and Firebase libraries add permissions such as billing, network state, install referrer, and advertising ID. They are used only for the purposes described in Sections 3.1 and 5.

Image Resizer Pro does not request access to the camera, microphone, location, or contacts, “Photos and videos” access (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES), or “All files access” (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE).

4. How We Use Information

The limited information we collect is used only for the following purposes:

  • Operating and maintaining the Service
  • Verifying purchases
  • Understanding aggregate app usage and improving the app (analytics)
  • Measuring the effectiveness of our own advertising campaigns (install conversion measurement)
  • Diagnosing and fixing crashes
  • Responding to support inquiries
  • Complying with applicable laws

5. Third-Party Services

Image Resizer Pro uses the following third-party services. Each service has its own privacy policy.

  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) — anonymous crash diagnostic data
  • Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC) — anonymous app usage statistics and measurement of our own ad campaigns (install conversions)
  • Google Play Billing — payments are completed on the store platform side
  • Google Play In-App Review and In-App Updates (Google LLC) — showing the Google Play rating prompt and offering app updates

Image Resizer Pro does not display ads within the app and does not share your data with advertising networks in order to show you ads.

6. Data Retention

  • Crash reports: retained for 90 days, then deleted.
  • Analytics data: retained by Google Analytics for up to 14 months, then deleted.
  • History, logos, and settings stored in the app: erased when you uninstall the app or clear the app's data. You can also clear the history from the app's “History” tab. Images the app has saved to the Pictures folder stay on your device until you delete them.

7. International Data Transfers

We are based in Japan. The infrastructure used for crash diagnostics and analytics may be located in various countries. When you use the Service, the minimal information described above may be processed outside your country of residence under standard contractual safeguards.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you reside (e.g., the EEA, UK, California, Japan), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the limited information we hold. You can:

  • Reset or delete your device's advertising ID in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads)
  • Clear your processing history on the app's “History” tab
  • Uninstall the app or clear the app's data to erase the history, logos, and settings stored in the app
  • Turn off backup in your device settings if you do not want the app's settings included in your Android backup
  • Contact us at the address below to make a request regarding the information we hold

9. Children's Privacy

Image Resizer Pro is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age applicable in your region). If we inadvertently collect information from such a child, we will delete it promptly upon being contacted.

10. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version is always published at this URL together with its effective date. We will also notify you within the app of significant changes as appropriate.
